My name is Colleen Henry and I am so excited to be returning to the Barracudas for my 14th season as a swimmer. This team has had such an amazing impact on my childhood and I look forward to getting to know all of the new families as well reconnect with past swimmers. This swim team is such a special part of our community and I look forward to another fun season. I will be graduating from Cherry Creek High School in May 2019 and will attend Northern Arizona University starting in the fall. Go Barracudas!!!
Hey Barracuda fans, it’s Stephen Wu here with backyard baseball. I’m a spry young man of 18 years, and I attend Baylor University as a Freshman double majoring in MIS and finance. I’ve been swimming on the Barracudas since I was a wee lad of just nine years old, and I have been an H2O and CIT for four years. This year they decided to promote me, so get ready for a fun filled season full of swimming, camaraderie, and the fan-favorite cupid shuffle. With my experience in church sunday school, WCCK, and lifeguarding, I feel like I’m well-equipped to handle the stresses swim team can bring. I’m currently an aftercare teacher at Live Oak Classical in Waco, so chilling with kids is second nature. I’m hoping to bring a cool vibe along with swimming fundamentals this year. I look forward to meeting all of you, parents included, and if you have questions or ever want to chat, shoot me an email or a text. Go Barracudas!!!!!!!! :D
My name is Mikaela Kirton and I have grown up swimming for the Barracudas, it is what got me into swimming! I absolutely loved to do it every summer and eventually got into swimming year-round on a club team called Aquawolves. I made Varsity as a freshman and my swimming career took off from there. From qualifying for the 5A High School State Swimming Championships to holding a CCHS Pool Record, I have Barracudas to thank for all of it. I am currently a Senior at Cherry Creek High School and will be a freshman at Washington State University next fall as a Division One Swimmer. I have been a volunteer swim coach for Special Olympics Colorado, Lifeguard, and of course a volunteer H20 for the Barracudas. I was a summer camp counselor last summer so I have lots of experience with working with kids, as well as teaching them how to swim thanks to my H20 and Special Olympics experiences. I have lots of amazing ideas to share and lots of team spirit. I am a very positive and energetic person when it comes to competing and having fun as a team! Swimming has been my entire life for 8 years now, and I hope that I can get the kids into it as much as I was and still am! Go Barracudas!
My name is Caroline Lucas and I am so excited to be back at the pool this summer! I have swam on the Barracudas for 10 years and can’t wait to get another season under my belt. I have always been a waterbug, especially growing up, and being on this team has been such an amazing part of my life. This May I will be graduating from Cherry Creek High School with plans to attend Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida in August of 2019.
My name is Ryan Toohill, and this will be my 13th year as a Barracuda. Last year, I coached the 9-10s, and I previously was a CIT for two years. I also am a USA Swimming Certified coach. I graduated from Regis Jesuit High School last year, and was a varsity swimmer all four of my years there. I just completed my freshman year at Gonzaga University, where I am studying Biology. My focus as a coach is developing proper stroke technique and aerobic as well as anaerobic endurance in swimmers. I love working with kids, and to me there is nothing more rewarding than seeing every child succeed in their own way. I can’t wait for this summer! Go Barracudas!!!
I started swimming when I was 4 years old, but back then I was on WCIII Dolphins. I soon transferred to our beloved Barracudas. I swam for WCI for the rest of my swimming career through high school. I also spent a few years, starting in middle school, swimming competitively. I have lived in Willow Creek my whole life and attended the elementary school. I went to Campus Middle School for 6th and 7th grade. I then went to STM for 8th grade and then graduated from Regis Jesuit High School Boys Division in 2015. I now will be graduating May of 2019 from Doane University with a BS in Biology and a minor in Philosophy. While at college, I studied abroad in Prague and completed the Honors Program. After this summer, I will be going to Bulgaria as a Fulbright Scholar. I have also delayed my acceptance to medical school for the Fall of 2020. I truly believe that swim team helped build the mental strength, agility, and spirit that has been apart of me my entire childhood and young adult life. These are skills that are only acquired in activities like swim team. Swim team will always have a special place in my heart, especially the Willow Creek I Barracudas.
I have been on the Barracudas for 8 years and since I was 6 years old, and plan to continue with the team as long as possible. I have also been on the Aquawolves competitive swim team for 5 years. This past season I made the JV1 Lady Bruins swim team at Creek. I love working with kids, have always connected really well with them and have been referred as a babysitter many times. I also love swimming and it has been such a big part of my life. I have enjoyed working as an H20 the past two seasons and teaching kids how to swim. I have met so many great people within the Barracuda community, and plan to continue with it for a long time.
My name is Nina Petros, I go to Cherry Creek High School and this will be my eighth year returning to the Barracudas. The last couple seasons I have been an involved H2O and I am beyond excited to be a Coach In Training this season. I have found a second family through this team and look forward to bonding with the kids and helping them reach their goals this season.
